Played demo. Looks much easier than ee2 which made my head hurt. But had a similar effect on my computer which ran slower than a one legged asmatic. Graphics looks nice although i couldn't zoom in due to computer. Playability is better than ee2 but still not great. I prefer WIC as a sequel to ee1. It has better graphics (I dont know about in terms of pizels or whatever graphics are normally measured in but more aesthically pleasing anyway), and is good fun to play, not over complicated and has big explosions which is a bonus.

I consider the latest sequel to be a complete and utter disaster. I found that the reason why Empire Earth was a success was due to the longlivity of the game. This was due to the following reason. There was varying levels of the computer, though the AI was occassionally foolish, but then again, so can humans. The mutliplayer community was excellent, which made amazing variants of games, such as city builder, ruled games etc. As well as roleplaying.
Roleplaying leads on to a very very important point, the scenario and campaign editor, as well as scenarios and camapigns in general. Whether it be single player and more importantly multiplayer, this is the reason why the game is still popular.
The first sequel again by Mad Doc, was in my not so humble opinion, a plain version of Rise of Nations. As shown by the use of territories, which I though fucked up the game by a large amount, as you could no longer spam out barracks etc. Another thing was the loss of individual units. No longer were there 3 types of sword infantry, just one type which was a branch of heavy infantry. You could no longer start a collection, as every unit upgraded automatically, which has some advantages, such as staying more advanced, however, occassionally, I in EE never upgraded things, such as Guardians to Watchmen because I prefered the look aesthetically of the Guardians over the Watchmen. In EE3, this trend continued, however was dictated by the thing syou use in your "civ", I say it such as there is really no variation and was like playing Command and Conquer, choose (I will let you find out on your own) to reach the final upgrade quickly and own everyone. Unlike in EE, and in some cases of EE2, old units are no longer worth their value in pop cost, as they can barely do anything when faced with more advanced units. At least in EE, those panzer tanks could at least attempt to kill cybers.
The scenario editor, at least existed in some form in EE2 though it was a more complicated script writing software, me I took computing at school and was capable of performing basic scenarios, but it really was too annoying to bother, especially placing a code for the location of each tree. In Empire Earth3, there is no such editor, in any recognisable form that I can see.
Finally long levity, without the editor, I do not see it lasting long. The game, the AI in single player is non-existent, it is is like playing easy level computers in EE when the dash is set to Hard, now imagine the easy comps. The game is till as laggy as EE2, and this is my latest computer which can handle Area 51, World in Conflict and Splinter Cell 4 being played on it. Especially Splinter Cell 4 which takes up a hell of a lot of processing capabilities. Though I must admit, not as laggy as that of EE2, but still laggy. Currently the game has the same problem of Halo Combat Evolved with dictated servers. However in larger areas. Currently, unless you patch your game to the US version you Europeans can not play US gamers, and vice versa, which I find annoying as anything. This needs to be sorted. Though the lobby is more nicer than normal game spy servers. It is nowhere near as good as the WonLobby of that owned previously by Sierra and Stainless Steel Studios.
So in my general opinion, this game is not worthe the money, and I am glad that I only had to pay $15 including postage and packaging for it. Instead of full price.
Guess this is going into the crap game piles where I left EE2 and EE2:AoS

Well that pretty much summed it up for me... What we really want is an expansion pack for the original ee's graphics and to make the multiplayer as amazing as World in Conflicts' Massgate promises to be. (still geting round to trying it out).

i hate ee2 they fucked up bad. i pray that someday ee1 will be remade with nothing changed but the graphics so a new generation will play and we'll still have the game that we love.
